Trimble Donates $100,000 to World Food Program USA’s Erase Children’s Hunger Campaign

Donation in observance of World Food Day will provide school meals to thousands of children across the globe

WESTMINSTER, Colo., Oct. 16, 2023 —Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced a donation of $100,000 to World Food Program USA's corporate partner program, ERASE HUNGER, raising funds in support of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP)'s school meals program around the world.

In observance of World Food Day, Trimble's donation will go toward supporting World Food Program USA's campaign focused on supporting kids and their communities through a school meals program. Currently, 345 million people globally are acutely food insecure, and three million children a year die from hunger and hunger-related illness.

"The world is facing the largest global food crisis in modern history," said Jim Chambers, vice president of agriculture for Trimble. "We recognize the importance of coming together to feed the world's growing population. This donation serves as a small part toward our goal by providing staple meals, via schools, to children across the world."

School meals not only improve children's nutrition and health but serve as a vital social safety net. By ensuring children get a nutritious daily meal at school, this program incentivizes parents to send their children to school. It promotes academic achievement, school attendance and gender equity, by encouraging families to keep all kids in school. In 2022, the U.N. World Food Programme, the world's largest provider of school meals, provided 22 million children with school meals, take-home rations and/or snacks.

"We thank Trimble for their generous support as we work to feed school children around the world. A child can't learn if they're hungry. WFP's school meals program is essential to nourishing both body and mind," said Barron Segar, president and CEO, World Food Program USA. "Private sector support is critical to helping us respond to the growing need as we face an unprecedented global hunger crisis."

The ERT150 - Dorner's Next Evolution of Edge Roller Technology Conveyors

The next evolution in Dorner's Edge Roller Technology conveyor platform, the ERT®150, is ideal for small and light-load assembly automation, as well as medical and medical-device assembly application. The ERT platform is the only pallet conveyor of its kind available with an ISO Standard Class 4 rating for cleanroom applications. Earning the ISO Standard 14644-1 Class 4 rating means Dorner's ERT150 will conform and not contribute to the contamination of cleanrooms to those standards. As implied by its name, the ERT150 (Edge Roller Technology) uses rollers to move pallets through the conveyor smoothly with no friction (a byproduct often seen in belt-driven platforms). The conveyor's open design eliminates concerns of small parts or screws dropping into rollers and causing conveyor damage or jamming. The ERT150 is suited to operate in cleanroom environments requiring a pallet handling conveyor. It is capable of zoning for no or low-back pressure accumulation and is ideal for automation assembly applications within industries including medical devices, electronics, consumer goods among others.
